Dori Berinstein is a
three-time Tony-winning Broadway producer with an extensive film and
television producing and directing background.
"ShowBusiness: The Road to Broadway," marks Dori Berinstein’s debut as
a feature film
director. Berinstein's 11th Broadway show, "Legally Blonde: The
Musical," premiered April 29, 2007. Her
previous theatrical productions include: "Thoroughly Modern Millie"
(Tony Award), "Fool Moon" (Tony Award), "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's
Nest" (Tony Award), "The Crucible" and "Flower Drum Song."
Dori is the co-founder of Camp Broadway, a nationwide, immersive
theatre program aimed at giving kids a life-long love for the arts.
Dori produced, directed and/or supervised over 40 film, f/x and
video productions including "Dirty Dancing" (Film and TV Series,) Isaac
Mizrahi's "Unzipped" (Award-winning documentary), Jim Henson's
"MuppetVision 3-D" (Disney Theme Park), Alan Cumming's "Eavesdropping"
(TV), and "The Isaac Mizrahi Show" (TV). She served as an
executive at Walt Disney Imagineering, Paramount and Sony
Pictures. She also exec-produced websites for President
Clinton and Oprah Winfrey.
Dori is currently in production on her third documentary feature,
chronicling the New Jersey Nets Senior Cheer Squad. Her second
documentary feature, "Some Assembly Required," produced in partnership
with NASA astronaut Dr. Sally Ride, follows kids competing in a
national toy invention competition.
