Daryl
Wein – Director/Producer/Editor
Daryl Wein (www.darylwein.com) studied drama and film at NYU Tisch
School of the Arts and USC School of Film and Television. His feature
length documentary, "Sex Positive," had its World Premiere in
competition at the 2008 SXSW Film Festival, London Film Festival in
addition to 20 other festivals around the world. His short film,
"Unlocked," for which he was co-writer, producer and director, was
officially selected for the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival. It won Best
Dramatic Short Film at the Evil City Film Festival in New York City and
has played at numerous other festivals around the world including the
Gijon International Film Festival in Spain and the Los Angeles
Uncensored Film Festival in California.
At age 16, his first short film, Life is a Train, won Third Prize at
the International Young Filmmaker's Festival in New York hosted by The
Directors View. His success inspired the state of Connecticut to
honor him with the "You Belong in Connecticut Young Media Maker Award."
As an actor, Daryl was the guest star on the season finale of "Law and
Order," and has appeared in "Law and Order: SVU," "ED," Comedy Central
movies, various stage productions, and over 10 national commercials.
Daryl Wein's debut narrative feature, "Breaking Upwards," a New York
style relationship movie for which he is writer/director/producer, will
have its World Premiere in Competition at SXSW. The film includes such
actors as Julie White (Transformers), Andrea Martin (My Big Fat Greek
Wedding), Peter Friedman (The Savages), Pablo Schreiber (The Wire), Zoe
Lister-Jones (Arranged), Ebon Moss Bachrach (The Lake House), and
Olivia Thirlby (Juno).
David Oliver Cohen - Producer
David’s feature length producing credits include Sex Positive, directed
by Daryl Wein, which will premier at the 2008 South by Southwest Film
Festival. He was associate producer on, Virgin, starring Robin Wright
Penn, which earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination and was an
Official selection at the Berlin Film Festival. He was also a
co-producer of Daryl Wein’s award winning short film Unlocked (Official
Selection Tribeca Film Festival).
For television, he is the creator, writer and executive producer of the
upcoming Warner Bros. comedy, Wingmen.
As an actor, David has starred on Broadway in the hit musical Rent and
created the role of Daniel on the Nickelodeon Sitcom, Taina. He can
currently be seen on CBS's As The World Turns as Kip Lonnegan.
Zoe Lister Jones – Associate Producer
Sex Positive is Zoe’s producerial debut.
Last year Zoe made her Broadway debut in The Little Dog Laughed after
creating the role of “Ellen” off-Broadway at Second Stage. She was also
seen off-Broadway in her one-woman show, “Codependence is a Four Letter
Word” at PS-122 and the world premiere of The Accomplices for The New
Group. Currently, she is in “The Marriage of Bette and Boo” at the
Roundabout Theater Company. Television credits include The Class, Law
and Order, Kidnapped, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Law and Order:
SVU, and Law and Order: Trial By Jury. Film credits include State of
Play, All Good Things, Explicit Ills, Goyband, The Marconi Brothers,
Day Zero, Turn the River and Arranged. She is a graduate of NYU Tisch
School of the Arts.
Alex Bergman – Director of Photography
Alex Bergman is a New York based Director of Photography. Sex Positive
is his first feature length film. He recently was the DP of “Breaking
Upwards,” Daryl Wein’s narrative feature debut. Other credits include
various music videos and short films.
